Clover (Holy Trinity)

Clover is a beautiful plant that is also know as trefoil. Trifolium (latin “three” and leaves “folium”) is a 3-leaflet herb. If you find a 4-leaflet (quatrefoiled) clover, it might bring you luck.  There are many species of clovers with different colours of flowers; white, red and pink.

It is safe to use leaves, flower and blossom seeds. It can be eaten as salad and made into beautiful flower tea and used as decoration for cakes. It grows abundantly everywhere and is widely used as a medicinal herb.

Clovers are full of nutrients and phytochemicals, beneficial plant compounds. Phytochemicals are anti-inflammatory for example reducing menopausal symptoms and improving blood flow. Red clover is a source of many nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. Red clover is a rich source of isoflavones (chemicals that act like estrogens and are found in many plants).
